YOUR IMPACT

The Systems Engineer will significantly contribute to building, maintaining, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of the company’s systems and storage infrastructure. Their role is critical to ensuring underlying systems, storage, applications, and services are available 24x7 to support the business needs of the company. 

This role includes managing and monitoring our server and storage infrastructure and ensuring the associated patching, backups and required maintenance processes are completed timely while adhering to the company’s change management processes, policies and standards.

The Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing and scaling the infrastructure to accommodate growth. In addition, you will have the ability to play a key role in our technology refresh planning to include the associated infrastructure upgrades and datacenter/cloud expansion activities planned for 2024-2025. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Responsible for managing the existing infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization. This includes managing backup/restore and replication infrastructure, Active Directory, Azure, O365, Exchange, SQL, SCCM, SSRS, and other supporting SaaS and internal applications and systems in a hybrid cloud environment.

Participate in change management activities related to the corporate infrastructure systems and services as necessary. Ensure that regulatory governed infrastructure environment changes are documented, tracked, reviewed, approved and adhere to the associated governance polices.

Identify and establish key metrics and monitoring to indicate the health and status of Wingstop’s systems and storage infrastructure to allow visibility and tracking to management. 

Work with cross functional teams regarding supporting IT infrastructure initiatives and requests.

Create and maintain support documentation and technical specifications. This includes ensuring that updates and changes made to the infrastructure are tracked through revision processes and that documentation is updated accordingly.

Respond to critical issues and alerts as needed to remediate issues and ensure uptime and availability for business-critical systems and infrastructure is maintained.

WHO YOU ARE

  • B.S. degree in a computer science, information systems, computer related discipline or 7 years IT work experience in a Systems Engineering role.
  • Team Player with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship management skills. 
  • Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills.
  • Ability to write and present articulated documentation and processes.
  • Knowledge of IT server systems, storage, database, networking, co-locations, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise storage solutions in a fiber-channel configuration.
  • MCSE, MCSA or other industry related certifications are a plus
